Last Friday, 3 May 2013, Sally, Karen and Cheryl picked up the keys to the houses for their sons Jackson, Daniel and Ben at the Getting A Life Intentional Community in Phillip, ACT. This is an absolutely momentous day for these young men, their mothers and their families.
Sally, Karen and Cheryl founded the Getting A Life project six years ago and have been working tirelessly on creating homes for their sons ever since.
Jackson, Daniel and Ben will be moving in over the next few weeks.
We have been backed over the years by many, many people, including Katy Gallagher MLA, the Chief Minister of the ACT and Joy Burch MLA in her former capacity as the ACT Minister for Housing and Disability Services. The Getting A Life Intentional Community will be opened by Her Excellency Quentin Bryce, Governor General of Australia, on 20 May 2013.
We are absolutely ecstatic that this day has finally come. The first photos of Daniel and Jackson exploring their brand new homes are below.
